Brad Davis has been a fan of SIT Strings for nearly his entire career. He uses them on all of his instruments. When asked why this particular brand, Brad said, “Due to my hectic touring and recording schedule I change strings frequently. With every other brand of string that I have tried there was an inconsistency in that when the strings were brand new right out of the package they would sound a little too bright for my taste. In a day or two they would settle in and sound just they way I liked them, but shortly after that they would sound dead and I was ready to change strings again. I needed to have a set that would sound the way I wanted them to sound right when I put them on the guitar and maintain that sound consistently up until the time I was ready to change them. The SIT strings do exactly that. And as the name SIT implies, they Stay In Tune! SIT also put a ‘short twist’ on the set that I used, which I needed. At the time I started playing the SIT strings the saddle on my guitar was positioned real close to the bridge pin holes. With other sets of strings the string wrap would actually ride up over the saddle, which wasn’t good. SIT put a short wrap on my set, which solved that problem.”

Brad Davis’ signature SIT acoustic guitar strings are a Royal Bronze, medium gauge (.013 to .056) set using fusion wound technology. This is our premium acoustic string. It features Phosphor Bronze cover wrap over a hard-tempered steel hex core. Then, the exclusive "Fusion Wound" technology utilizes electricity to adhere the bronze cover wrap to the core. This technology fuses the phosphor bronze cover wrap more tightly to the core of the string. This process eliminates loose spots in the winding. Loose spots in the winding can cause a ‘dead sounding’ string or a string with a shortened life span. With the fusion wound technology the final result is an acoustic string with a truly unique sound and feel.
